This week, Dream Cars is featuring two very clean and nicely modified four-wheel drive vehicles, from two different manufacturers - both highly respected in the off-road community. They are similar vehicles, but executed differently, and at two different budget levels. Both are thoughtfully and comprehensively upgraded, and complement each other at their different price points. Auctions for these will end on Saturday, April 9th at 3pm EDT/12pm PDT, offering potential buyers a little more time to give these some consideration.
Up fpr sale is this 2000 Toyota Land Cruiser, finished in River Rock Green over a grey interior, powered by a 4.7 liter V8 engine running through a four-speed automatic transmission with selectable four wheel drive, and 198,217 miles on the clock.

This is a very clean and well modified example of the legendary Toyota Land Cruiser. This particular generation, known as the J100 chassis, was produced from 1998 to 2007, and is known for its reliability and toughness. But no matter the generation, Land Cruisers have earned a reputation for being not only reliable, but tough enough to survive in the most adverse off road conditions. Though most Land Cruisers of this era originally saw duty as a regular family commuter, they've become incredibly popular in the off-road community - an excellent platform that responds well to smart upgrades for most off-road situations.
This particular example is clean and presents well, and is also equipped with quality upgrades meant for offroad use, made by respected names in the off-road specialist community. It spent its life in Texas and North Carolina, and is well preserved, with a distinct lack of corrosion issues, faded paint or cracks. The modifications performed are mostly add-ons to help with ground clearance, luggage carrying capacity, and camping comfort, while leaving the reliable Toyota mechanicals alone, needing no improvement in that area. Overall, a thoughtfully modified off-roader, comfortable and capable, and ready to go for the next owner.
The exterior of this Land Cruiser is in very good condition the finish is glossy, with consistent color tint across all panels, indicating a vehicle mostly garage kept in a mild climate for its lifespan. Though there are some small scratches visible in a couple of places, like the rear driver side pillar above the taillight, and some mild chipping on the rear hatch door, this vehicle is remarkably free from any kind of nicks or dents along the sheet metal.
The Land Cruiser is riding on the factory alloy wheels, augmented by Nitto Ridge Grappler off-road tires. The tire upgrade includes the full-size spare, equipped with a Yokohama Geolander, which is mounted to the outside of the rear hatch.
The interior of this Land Cruiser is very clean, with no noticeable issues with wear or defect. Seats are covered in the original factory gray leather, which are remarkably free from wear, discoloration, or any sagging. Instrumentation is complete and factory original, with the exception of the sound system, which was upgraded with an Bluetooth capable head unit with Apple CarPlay.
This Land Cruiser is powered by a 4.7 liter V8 engine, running through it was four speed automatic transmission. Both the engine and transmission are in excellent mechanical condition, with no issues noted.
The modifications to this Land Cruiser include a custom fabricated roof rack by South Texas Outfitters, Wilco swing out spare tire carrier and tray, Iron Man 4x4 awning, Iron Man 4x4 classic bumper with integral LED lights, Iron Man 4x4 snorkel mounted on the passenger side A-pillar, and a Kenwood stereo head unit with apple CarPlay. The Land Cruiser is in excellent operating condition, with all functions operating properly, a brand new a BS module was recently installed, and braking is consistent.
Underneath, the chassis is clean and free from damage or corrosion. Some exhaust components and bracketry have surface corrosion, but nothing functionally wrong with the parts.
