Up for auction is this 2019 Ultima Evolution/RS, finished in Brilliant Blue with silver stripes over a black interior, powered by a 426 cubic-inch stroker LS3 V8 running through a Porsche G90 six-speed manual transaxle, with 1,100 miles on the clock.
Dream Cars is pleased to offer this Ultima for auction, an example built for the owner to an exacting specification, as a street legal track-focused sports car perfect for track days.
Ultima, based in England, is a small builder known for their years of experience custom building sports cars. They produce high-quality chassis under the “kit car” classification, which exempts them from meeting government regulations that large-scale manufacturers must abide by. They are designed to accommodate Chevy’s popular LS and LT motors, allowing a wide range of power levels to choose from, and comprehensive support for tuning and custom specification, which this owner took full advantage of.
The Ultima Evolution RS is the latest model by the company, and represents decades of development and experience building dedicated sports/GT cars for capable drivers. The owner of this car ordered it from scratch, and had an informed and specific idea of what he wanted from his track car build, and selected everything himself down to the smallest detail.
The result is an impressive specification for the experienced track aficionado. with carefully selected options and equipment for enjoyable, reliable track days, while providing the proper pace and capability to challenge the driver. This is fully analog drivers car, with no traction or braking aids, which is something mass production manufacturers simply aren’t allowed to do.
Though registered as a 2019, full completion of the build occurred in 2020.
During the build of this car, Ultima announced a new RS spec of the Ultima, with upgraded mechanical and cosmetic specs. The owner promptly requested that every RS upgrade be included in his build, thus making it an Ultima/RS. A three-ring binder detailing all the specs of the build is available, and will come with the sale. This is an excellent, fully optimized example with no stories, and has never been driven in rain or inclement weather - garage kept its entire life, and ready to go for its next owner.
The brilliant blue exterior is in excellent condition, with consistent finish across all panels, and tight panel gaps. The roof scoop for the engine induction is extended to the front, and all engine air ducts and louvers are constructed of carbon fiber. The front splitter, canards, and rear spoiler are all carbon-fiber, and adjustable.
The RS parts list upgrades specified by the owner during the build includes the full roof scoop leading back to the engine intake, carbon fiber intake and fender vents, a double carbon fiber wing with swan neck mounts, and upgraded CF remote control outside mirrors.
The interior of this Ultima is in excellent condition. All touch points are clean and free from wear, and fit and finish is very good.
The exposed carbon tub is accentuated with aluminum panels, and feature fixed back racing bucket seats with Schroth six-point racing harnesses in black. Seating surfaces and the dash are in hand-stitched leather, and the full roll cage is also completely wrapped in leather.
The passenger footwell also includes the mounting point for the Safecraft fire extinguisher bottle, with plumbed lines running to critical areas for maximum protection. All gauges and switches are fully operational. Items added to make the car easier to drive on the street include the Pioneer stereo with a retractable screen that is linked to back-up camera, and air conditioning, which is fully functioning.
This Ultima/RS is powered by a naturally aspirated, 426 cubic-inch LS3 V8, with a dry-sump oiling system.
It was built to customer specification by Mast Motorsports out of Nacogdoches, Texas, a highly respected engine builder that specializes in Chevrolet LS and LT motor builds. It started with a new LS3 block, then built from the bottom up - forged internals, aluminum heads, race fasteners - resulting in a light and powerful stroker LS3 motor that was dyno-tested at 550 hp to the wheels, for reliable naturally aspirated horsepower.
The engine runs through a new Porsche G90 six-speed transaxle, aided by a CAE short shifter kit, chosen for its size and stout construction. Brakes are power assisted, AP Racing six-piston calipers at all four corners with slotted rotors, covered by 19" three-piece Forgeline modular wheels, with Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires in 265/30-19 size in front, and 325/30-19 out back. The Ultima does not have any electronic driver aids or anti-lock brakes, and the hydraulic steering is not power assisted.
The remote reservoir shocks are fully adjustable for compression and rebound with upgraded springs running at 600f/700r lb/in, while the sway bars are upgraded from stock spec to Ultima’s race spec.
Curb weight of this Ultima is estimated to be 2,050 pounds, dry weight.
